Just as we hoped, they released an alternate trailer! The other version is here if you missed it a couple days ago.

If you caught The Dictator in theaters this weekend, you’ve already gotten your first glimpse at the Channel 4 news team– a.k.a Brick Tamland, Champ Kind, Brian Fantana and Ron Burgundy– as they prepare to return to your movie screens. But if you didn’t make it out to Sacha Baron Cohen’s new movie, and have missed the debut of the first teaser trailer, here’s the second teaser for Anchorman 2.

All four newsmen seem to be walking just fine, so now we can just focus on the jokes, which feel perfectly within the familiarAnchorman wheelhouse. Even the narration — “When apes rode the winged horse across the valley of Eli”– is appropriately silly and completely nonsensical.

The Channel 4 News Team seems pretty comfortable, but Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) doesn’t do well in the spotlight.

It’s a teaser trailer that both makes us excited for the movie and tells us absolutely nothing about what the movie will be like– I have a feeling Brick’s promise that “in this movie we play witches” isn’t going to come true.

Since the script is still being written, they were bioth shot specifically to get the hype machine started and it works perfectly, and one hasn’t been seen in theaters at all. I’m also certain that there are about 15 other versions of this teaser in which they improvise other insane lines, so here’s hoping those emerge online soon.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is written and directed by Adam McKay, the man behind the original 2004 comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and films like Step Brothers and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. The film reunites the Channel 4 News Team played by Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner, and cast members like Vince Vaughn and Christina Applegate are expected to return.

The script is still being written, but the film will see the dawn of the 24-hour news cycle and the addition of anchors of different races, all making for a tense workplace for the old crew.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues is tentatively slated to reach theaters by 2013.
