Bridgit Mendler floats down the river on a leaf in the brand new music video for “Summertime” from The Secret World of Arrietty.
Bridgit Mendler and David Henrie voice the lead characters in Disney and Studio Ghibli’s new movie “The Secret World Of Arrietty”. Disney has produced a music video for an new English music track “Summertime” performed by Bridgit Mendler.
While it is uncertain of if they will be replacing any of the original songs from the Studio Ghibli masterpiece with English dubbed tracks, the appearance of this video hints that they might be. While I don’t have any particular dislike for the track itself, it is not suited to the theme of the movie and would be disappointing to see any of the original tracks replaced.
The film, a re-imaging of Mary Norton’s 1952 childrens series “The Borrowers” is due to appear in over 1,200 cinemas around the US from the 17th February 2012.
Residing quietly beneath the floorboards are little people who live undetected in a secret world to be discovered, where the smallest may stand tallest of all. From the legendary Studio Ghibli (“Spirited Away,” “Ponyo”) comes “The Secret World of Arrietty,” an animated adventure based on Mary Norton’s acclaimed children’s book series “The Borrowers.”
