‘RoboCop‘ OmniCorp Product Line Viral Video - The first viral video for the RoboCop’s 2013 Remake/Reboot shows that OCP (rechristened OmniCorp) is back in business – and so is ED-209.
Looks like MGM has started up the viral marketing for their upcoming “Robocop” reboot. A new viral website has launched for the upcoming 2013 sci-fi remake of Robocop, following in the footsteps of Total Recall, remaking Vorhoeven’s sci-fi classics.
The newly launched site is for the fictional corporation in the film called OmniCorp (omnicorp.com), and boasts the motto: “We’ve got the future under control. OmniCorp is creating a better tomorrow.” But do they really? Oh, the fun of viral marketing, putting you into that world first-hand. The site has a video and a first look at the titular badass robot the “ED-209″ that fans will certainly remember from the original movies.

The film’s infamous OmniCorp, the corporation that builds Robocop and supplies a future Detroit with its various money-making schemes protection products, including a sparkling new ED-209 enforcer. After all, a “Robocop” movie without OmniCorp is just not a “Robocop” movie, and it’s good to know that the folks behind the reboot recognize that.
The new OmniCorp site also shows this video in the “Product Line” area, but all other links say “Access Denied” or don’t work. Obviously this is only the start of the viral, as José Padilha’s Robocop is just starting.
The site primarily features two robotic OmniCorp product creations: the ED-209, “Battlefield Tested.” Plus the XT-909 ”Unmanned Aerial Vehicle”, which is essentially just a drone. The new ED-209 is apparently slimmer in design and more heavily-armed than the original version. Keep watching for more updates.
And oh, look, a sneak peek at OmniCorp’s “RC-2000″. “When human resources meet robotic engineering“? Gee, I wonder what “RC” stands for…
