‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘ The Suit Featurette - Studying & loving Spidey’s redesigned suit for his rebooted adventure in this latest featurette. With the films release fast approaching, Columbia Pictures has set loose the IMAX poster (seen below) and behind-the-scenes featurette highlighting Spider-Man’s redesigned suit for Marc Webb’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’, alongside looks at Andrew Garfield filming action scenes in the suit.
In this new featurette for The Amazing Spider-Man, stars Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone with costume designer Kym Barrett share their thoughts about the suit, talking about their first reactions to the red and blue unitard.
Garfield recalls “savoring the moment” when he wore the suit because it meant so much to him.
Stone was mesmerized by the suit and couldn’t even believe she was in the same room as Spider-Man. Emma Stone reveals that she had a childlike experience saying, “it’s not like Halloween[costume], it’s like movie magic…we’re in a room with Spider-Man, this is as Spider-Man as it gets.”
Costume designer Kym Barrett discusses designing a suit that Peter Parker would be able to construct himself. Before recreating the costume, Barrett first thought how the character, Peter Parker, would come up with the idea, and she took it from there.
Spidey definitely has one of the more well-known superhero costumes in the comic book world, so it’s pretty interesting to hear about the decisions that went into designing the new costume for this reboot.
