‘Les Miserables‘ Teaser Trailer - An adaptation of the successful stage musical based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel set in 19th-century France, in which a paroled prisoner named Jean Valjean seeks redemption.
Universal has debuted the first teaser trailer for Tom Hooper’s Les Misérablesmusical adaptation, starring Hugh Jackman as prisoner Jean Valjean and Anne Hathaway as Fantine in the big screen version. We also get glimpses of Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried,Samantha Barks as Éponine and Eddie Redmayne.
“I dreamed a dream…”
The teaser trailer features Hathaway singing “I Dreamed a Dream” over some grand and spectacular visuals. She sounds pretty damn good. It looks like an epicly grand, magnificent, visually wonderful musical and I’m sure it will be an event this fall.
It is difficult for me, however, to separate the film from the stage version at this point in time, and I am sceptical about how 3D will be implemented.
Nevertheless, this is a must see, not just for lovers of the musical, but fans awaiting Tom Hooper’s follow-up to his Academy Award-winning feature The King’s Speech.
